Showcased at UCLA's Game Lab Exhibition.
This board game was created at UCLA's Game Lab and made for my class in Game Design. I contributed to my team of four as an artist for the boardgame map, character/monster card designs, and artwork.
Tool(s): Adobe Illustrator
Duration: 2 weeks
Process:
For this board game, my team and I delegated the game mechanics to two people and the artwork to another person and me. As an artist, I created the board design and aided in the card designs.
Design:
Our character cards were one color, as players picked one of the three and then encountered monster cards, which were multiple colors. The board itself was strategically designed as a triangle, aligning with our gameplay mechanics that required each character to be at a different point of the map for efficient 'town destruction'.
My Takeaways:
I valued the teamwork that went into this project; we were able to blend multiple ideas during our first phase of design. The project taught me the value of delegating people to their unique skills and strong team communication to ensure smooth development.Â
